Job Description
We are looking for a Head of Talent Identification (TID) to establish and manage pathways for detecting and identifying the most talented players in China. Given the diverse and complex structure of football in China, we need to develop a reliable detection system to operate efficiently in talent identification. Maintaining strong relationships with partner clubs and government-related stakeholders, such as the Shaanxi FA and the Ministry of Sports, is essential.
Responsibilities
- Detect and identify the best players for our elite teams in Xi'an and Guangzhou.
- Establish a reliable detection system for talent identification.
- Maintain strong relationships with partner clubs and government stakeholders.
- Work with a team of scouts and tipsters to detect, identify, monitor, and confirm talents for our academies/pathways.
- Organize and monitor scouting events regularly (monthly) to track player performance.
- Administer the most talented players in a central data system with reports and scores.
- Create a solid data system to track player development and readiness for the next level.
- Monitor players over the long term, considering different development speeds and stages.
- Lead and coordinate a team of scouts and build strong relationships with partner clubs.
Competences
- Experience in talent identification.
- Holding a coaching license level B.
- Ability to work in a digital environment for data scouting (basic computer skills).
- Flexibility in working different time slots and locations.
- Good understanding of the complexity of talent development and scouting (holistic approach).
- Professional cohesion in working within a team of scouts to identify players.
- Ability to identify player qualities regarding our style of play and quality standards.
- Capable of coordinating travel and visits to scouting events/tournaments.
- Leadership and coordination skills to manage a team of scouts.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Deep understanding of Chinese culture and the football landscape.
- Ability to follow a central football philosophy and contribute to higher standards.
- Holding a bachelor's degree (a must for applying for a residence permit in China).
Conditions
- Housing contribution: 4,000 RMB per month (covers 80-90% of all costs).
- Salary: €5,000 - €7,500 net per month, depending on experience.
- Flight tickets: 2x round trip per year (Europe).
- School contribution: €1,000 net per month for candidates with children.
Important: A bachelor’s diploma (HBO diploma) is required to enter China and apply for a residence permit.
